It was a tough choice for judges with 19 excellent animals to choose from, but there were 3 stand-outs in the herd. Murial, the Dairy Queen from Apex High School won $1,000 and first place.
Second place goes to a chicken decorated by Fuquay-Varina High School. Javier at the Fair won the school $750 for their art program.
Ms. Moo, a cow decorated by Jesse O. Sanderson High School in Raleigh won third place and $500.
Judges also selected “Corny Carney Carl” by Wakefield High School, “Playin’ Hooky” by Garner Magnet School and an unnamed horse by the N.C. School of Math and Science as honorables.
